Crocheted and Braided Multistrand Wire Necklace

Class Description:

Need a special piece for an upcoming wedding, graduation, or holiday party? Ready to announce the arrival of a new season in a gorgeous, colorful way? Now's the time to make a beautiful crocheted and braided necklace, using beautiful crystals and pearls or any other combination of beads. The intricate design is easier than it looks, and goes very quickly. The results are breathtaking! If you haven't crocheted before, please pick up a crochet hook (we'll be using a size 7 hook) and go to www.crochet.com to learn how to make a simple chain stitch prior to the class.

Crocheted and Braided Multistrand Wire Necklace Supply List

• Size 7 crochet hook
• Wire cutter
• Flat-nose plier
• Round-nose plier
• 360-400 beads of various shapes and sizes (generally 4-8mm) in a palette of complimentary, mixed or coordinated colors.

• 180-4mm crystal bicones (Swarovski #5301; AB are beautiful)
• 125-6mm crystal bicones (again, AB if you like them)
• 1 strand 5-7mm fresh water pearls
• 25-30 Swarovski cubes (#5601, 6-8mm)
• 15-20 other round, clear crystals of various sizes.

Other materials

• 50 yards of 28 gauge wire (your choice of silver, gold or a color)
• 1 foot of 20-gauge wire
• 2 bead cones at least 3/4" tall
• 1 clasp
• 2 beads (6-8mm)

(The sample uses all sterling findings except for the 28-gauge wire)
