Great Barrier Reef Necklace

Instructor: visiting artist Wendy Ellsworth

Class Description:
Using the Tubular form of the Herringbone Stitch, class participants will learn how to make a beautiful necklace that evokes the colors and textures of the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. Each necklace will be unique and one-of-a-kind. Participants will choose their color palette of beads to match the colors in a focal bead or dichroic cabochon. Many strands of fringe add the look of seaweed flowing at the edges of the focal bead. Previous experience in Herringbone Stitch is helpful but not a prerequisite. This is a project that uses seed beads in various sizes, shapes, textures and colors. Come prepared to play in the creative process and stimulate all your senses!
