Pierrot Collar Necklace/Bracelet

Class Description:

This dazzling 18-inch necklace is inspired by the Pierrot Neckpiece described in Gineke Root’s Innovative Beaded Jewelry Techniques. Row upon row of small overlapped loops drape sensuously over the collarbone. The flexible base works up quickly in single-needle right-angle weave using size 8/o beads. The loops are sewn onto the base and layered for a full, lush feel. Once you’ve mastered the technique, experiment with free-form embroidery over the base and let your imagination run wild! Sample necklace on display in store. The class project will be your choice: a necklace or a bracelet; expect to finish your project at home. All skill levels.

Pierrot Collar Necklace/Bracelet Supply List

Note: This project works up faster if you use size 11/0seed be ads that are on hanks, or pre-strung; loose beads will work fine, but will take more time.

Seed Beads 8/0- 1 0z.
Seed Beads 11/0-1 hank, or 1.5 oz., same color as 8/0
Nymo B (if you like to work with doubled thread), OR
Nymo D or F (if you prefer to work with a single strand)
Work surface-something you can tape your project to
Clasp – 3-strand box clasp, or toggle, or 5/8 inch button
2 size 10 or 12 beading needles
Tape- pink hair tape, or soft paper tape
Light source, bead dishes, beeswax, scissors,
Magnification, if needed.

Note: Purchase supplies at Crystal Blue, or bring your own.
Hair tape and paper tape can be found at a drug store.
