Summer Passion Flower Bracelet

Class Description:
These Summer Passion Flowers are one element from Wendy's necklace “Summer Passion”. They are formed in two layers using two sizes of seed beads (8/o’s & 11/o’s) and are worked in the Herringbone Stitch. Multiple increases in multiple colors give each flower its circular shape and a beautiful lamp-worked bead of your choice nestles into the center. The finished flower can be used as a brooch, as part of a necklace or as a magnificent bracelet. Previous experience in Herringbone Stitch is a pre-requisite.

Summer Passion Flower Bracelet Supply List

Size 11/o seed beads: up to 30 colors, approx. 2gr. each

Size 8 Japanese seed beads: 9-10 colors, approx. 4gr. each

1 size 8mm (approx.) lamp-worked bead (recommend Paula Radke’s beads)

2 small pressed glass flowers

Silamide thread

Size 12 Sharps needles (or short Beading)

Small sharp scissors

Beeswax

Work surface of choice (piece of leather works well)

Desk lamp & magnification, if needed

Chair cushion (optional)

Good sense of humor

As you pick out your bead colors, think about the passionate colors of summer: many shades of green, purples, pinks, yellows, gold, blues. You only need a small amount of each color but I recommend at least 30 colors of size 11! Choose a variety of finishes and types, such as transparent, matte, matte iridescent, opaque and cut beads to lend contrast and texture to your flower.
