Investing in high end and expensive equipment too fast and too soon.
If this is something that you are fairly new at and you have never really had any kind of experience or previous knowledge about what it takes to be a wedding photographer, then you should probably scale it back a little. There really is no harm in taking things a step at a time and in taking things slow. If there is anything that you are still a bit unsure of, perhaps you should talk to the experts in your area and perhaps you should try to go ahead and do some research somewhere along the way as well. You don’t have to buy the most high end stuff that the market has to offer out to you as a wedding photographer. There’s a possibility that you won’t be able to use all of those add on features in the first place.
Keep it simple and stick to the basics for now.
If there are any second hand stuff that you will be able to get your hands on, try to go for those at first. This way, you don’t end up burning through your finances too much and too soon. If you can borrow equipment from friends, you should opt for that option as well. Give yourself a little more time to get used to the professional grade equipment before you decide to go ahead and take the jump as a fully committed wedding photographer.
Being too worked up with the concept of competition.
Competition is not real. At the end of the day, there will always be enough room for you and for the other aspiring wedding photographers out there. Do not be selfish. Support people while you can and when you can, even when they are in more or less the same niche and the same circles as you are. You will never really know when you might be able to tap into these contacts. Keep close ties with them as much as possible and make as many friends as you possibly can. There is actually such a thing called business karma. When you are constantly giving out good vibes and constantly showing the love to other vendors and wedding photographers, they will most likely feel compelled to reciprocate your actions and everything that you are doing as a wedding photographer will come back to you perhaps even so much more than what you were initially aiming to do for them. What goes around really does come around in wedding photography.
Too much pressure in learning everything right away.
There is so much to learn in too little time. You will not be able to go through all of them even if you wanted to. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Savor the experience and try to absorb things as you go along. Forcing the process will not help you become a better kent wedding photographer. Let things unfold and happen naturally and you should be able to get them checked out as you go along.

Get a flash bracket and make it a part of your wedding photography gear.
Shadows are something that you should always keep in check if you want your wedding photography project to be a success in all of the photos that you are supposed to take. A flash bracket is an external device that you will have to invest in at some point or so. It is one of the best photography accessories that you could ever get your hands on so save as much as you can and pool your funds so that you can eventually afford a flash bracket to help you get a hold on the shadow elements that you are faced with. This is not an absolute necessity but it should be something that you should consider once you have started to settle in on your career as a Seattle wedding photographer.
Make your photos look spontaneous.
A spontaneous looking set of photos is something that you should always check to get if you can help it. Spontaneity is not the easiest thing to document though. The real challenge there is that you will need to be right there and position just at the right place and angle before the moment even happens. This does not mean that you are required to be clairvoyant though. You just need to know what the signals are and what the different social cues and bodily cues are so that you can more or less go ahead of everyone else and position yourself the right way. There are also a lot of things that you can do to help make the photos look spontaneous even if they are a bit choreographed. It all really depends on the execution of things and that is something that you will be able to learn as your experience and knowledge builds up.
Give the train the attention that it requires for the wedding photography shoot.
The bride chose to include a train in her wedding dress because she took a particular amount of fondness in it enough to actually request for it specifically from the designer of the dress. You should be sensitive enough to really understand that and to give the train of the dress the kind of focus and spotlight that it deserves, even for just a certain number of photos included in the wedding photography album that you are trying to bring together in the services that you are providing for your clients. A lot of brides partially blame their wedding photographers when it comes to the issue of not taking enough pictures of the train of the wedding dress and that is something that you should avoid.
Go for a black and white color scheme for your wedding photography shoot.
Shooting some of the moments in black and white is something that you should be quite willing to experiment with. It can really make your photos look different and even classy at times and that is what you should be capitalizing on if you want to be able to spice things up.

Invest in yourself and in your career as a wedding photographer by enrolling in a photography course.
If you chose a career and decided to be a wedding photographer, you are basically trying to build up a business around your photography skill set. Thus, it only works just as well if you view it as such. And as with all businesses, there are certain investments that you will have to take in order for you to take it to a whole new level. This is how you should perceive a photography course. When you come to think of it, enrolling in one will actually get to level up your skills as a Leicester photographer. Your skills are your most lucrative commodities and you should always work on improving them all of the time. Research the best photography courses out there and try to look into what you would like to learn or what you would like to specialize in and narrow your search from there.
There are also other things that you will need to look at such as the instructor who will be facilitating the course, whether or not that instructor really has something to bring to the table, if the schedule will fit whatever you have going for you right now, and so on and so forth. The point is that you cannot afford to rush into things. You have to take it slow and think things through because photography courses do not come cheap when it all comes down to it.
Get a fellow wedding photographer to mentor you.
Starting out as a wedding photographer is a challenging and uphill climb. You will need to latch on to all of the help that you can get. Getting a fellow wedding photographer to guide you at least during the first few phases of your career can really help steer you towards the right direction. You will be made aware of the common mistakes that wedding photographers in general usually commit and save yourself some major setbacks in being able to really make your career lurch forward into something that you can make a decent living out of and actually enjoy. Meet with your mentor at least once every month just so that he has something to track your progression with. Keep an open mind and learn as much as you can.
Get as much experience as possible.
It will come as no surprise that your clients will be far and few in between. This is because no one will be willing to go for an “untested” choice. You will still need to fill up that resume and portfolio though. Do not be choosy with what you get at first. Just be thankful that you get to learn something new about photography every single day and take it a day at a time.
It takes time to be good in what you do as a wedding photographer.
You cannot become a photography expert overnight. This is no reason for you to be so hard on yourself. Most of those experts took years before they were able to master your craft. Just work on your skills every day and you will eventually reap results.
